Hi – I am Megan Daves and I am here to tell you that I should have failed art! Yep. Middle school, 8th grade, Mrs. Gast – she should have given me a big, huge, ugly F in her class.
But she was the type that truly believed in “A for effort”. I can't draw, I can't sketch, but I always wanted to be a maker of sorts. Is this at all like you?
I love crafting, love making something from nothing, like vinyl crafts, up-cycyling, furniture painting, papercrafting, hot glue gun projects, fabric crafts (not clothing making or anything fancy like that!); if it involves anything that makes your home feel homey, I want to make it!
My hubby, Matt, encourages my love of crafting and his love of woodworking comes in VERY handy – however we don't do well sharing tools, we each need our own. I am sure many of you know how that goes.
My daughter, Emily, who is 14, going on 36, loves to be the on the getting end of the crafts. She sees something she wants and comes to mom first, which is just beyond awesome.
Together our small family is the perfect fit. We eat dinner at our kitchen table every night, there is no TV or electronics in sight for mealtimes. Of course, we love watching movies, cooking together, playing cards (my daughter took over my old title of Skipbo Queen), and otherwise just spending time all together.
Our home is the one that the kids do sleepovers at, there are often children we don't know out back on the trampoline, and I can't imagine anything better.
This blog is a new one for me. After having a papercrafting blog (www.iteachstamping.com) for over 10 years, I wanted to create a space to share and inspire others with the crafts I love that goes beyond card making. And uses some bigger tools. And extra “stuff”!
Thank you for joining in the fun of this new site and helping me get it going!
Love ya,
Meg
